初対客之取持ニ罷越候様ニ兼而使者
を以被申越候
一 今日弥初対客ニ付罷越候尤昨【マヽ】朝七ツ時
之門明之旨猶又使者被申越承知之旨

但裏門より通候様ニとの口上ニ候
一 八ツ半時出宅服紗小袖半上下着用致し
裏門え差付罷越下乗案内之者出内
玄関より上り取次案内致し親類

一 松平伊賀守殿とは格別な間柄であることから、初対面の客の接待のために出向くよう、かねてから使者を通じて申し越された。
一 今日いよいよ初対面の客のために出向いた。なお昨朝七つ時の門開きの件について、重ねて使者が申し越したので、承知した旨を返答した。
ただし裏門から通るようにとの口上であった。
一 八つ半時に出宅、服紗小袖に半上下を着用して裏門に到着し出向いた。下乗で案内の者が出てきて、内玄関から上がり、取次が案内して親類

1. Since I have a particularly close relationship with Lord Matsudaira Iga-no-kami, I was requested through a messenger some time ago to come and assist with receiving guests at their first audience.
1. Today I finally went to attend to the first-time guests. Furthermore, regarding yesterday morning's gate opening at the seventh hour, a messenger came again to inform me, and I sent back word that I understood.
However, the verbal message was to enter through the rear gate.
1. I departed at half past the eighth hour, wearing a plain silk kosode with hakama and haori, and arrived at the rear gate. I dismounted and a guide came out, then entered through the inner entrance hall where an attendant showed me to the relatives'
