現代語訳

勝手口へ通り、自用方用人を呼び出して口上を申し述べた。

一　石川日向守、丹羽若狭守が通されており、相応に挨拶を申し述べた。間もなく成瀬隼人正も同様に来越された。

一　取り持ち坊主も両三人参っていた。

一　表の出席場所を一覧したいと一同で申し合わせ、自用方用人の案内で一覧しておいた。

一　湯漬けを差し出すとの旨、用人が申し聞かせ、直ちに膳が出された。

一　間もなく門開き前との旨、用人が申し聞かせたので、図のように着座した。

[Continuing from previous page] quarters through the kitchen entrance, called out the jiyo-gata retainer and stated my message.

1. Ishikawa Hyuga-no-kami and Niwa Wakasa-no-kami had already been shown in, and I exchanged appropriate greetings with them. Soon after, Naruse Hayato-no-sho also arrived in the same manner.

1. Two or three monks who served as intermediaries were also present.

1. We all agreed that we wanted to view the seating arrangements in the main hall, so we inspected them under the guidance of the jiyo-gata retainer.

1. The retainer informed us that ochazuke (rice with tea) would be served, and the meal trays were immediately brought out.

1. Soon the retainer informed us that it was time before the gate opening, so we took our seats as shown in the diagram.
