采女正殿が出席されたため、私は御先手組の一岡丹後守と一緒に参上し、板倉周防守が病気のため隠居を願い出て、同氏の息子左近将監に家督を下し置かれるよう願い出る旨を私が申し述べ、願書を直接お渡ししたところ、采女正殿が一読された上でご了承いただいたので、時宜を得て退出した。
ただし、門前に周防守の留守居が控えていたので、願書を滞りなくお受け取りいただいた旨を帰って適切に報告するよう申し付け、すぐに帰宅した。
同月八日 服紗半上下を着用
一、今日五つ半時過ぎに供揃えが整うとすぐに出宅し、周防守の御用召しのため名代として登城した。その旨を坊主や御目付に申し遣わしておき、廻り後に芙蓉之間において老中が列座し、周防守が願い出た通り隠居を仰せ付けられ、家督は相違なく左近将監に下し置かれる段を御用番が

When Uneme-no-shō appeared for the meeting, I, together with Ichioka Tango-no-kami from the advance guard unit, came forward to report that Itakura Suō-no-kami wished to petition for retirement due to illness, and that we requested that headship of the family be granted to his son Sakon-shōgen. I presented the petition directly, and after Uneme-no-shō reviewed it and gave his acknowledgment, I took my leave at an appropriate time.
However, since Suō-no-kami's representative was waiting at the gate, I instructed him to return and properly report that the petition had been received without incident, then immediately returned home.

1. Today, shortly after half past the hour of the Cock (around 7:30 AM), as soon as the retinue was assembled, I departed from my residence and ascended to the castle as a representative for Suō-no-kami's official summons. Having sent word of this matter to the monks and inspectors, after making the rounds, in the Fuyō-no-ma chamber where the senior councilors were seated, it was announced by the duty officer that Suō-no-kami's petition for retirement had been granted as requested, and that family headship would indeed be granted to Sakon-shōgen.
