一、御目付衆に対し、使者を通じて板倉周防守の名代として登城した旨を申し伝えておいた。
一、板倉左近将監も出仕されているので、後刻お達しがある際の対応について相談しておいた。
一、詰日の人々と一同で雁之間に出て控えていたところ、御目付が参り、お達しの書付を見せられた。

March 8th
1. Today, serving as substitute for Itakura Suō-no-kami, I wore a fukusa kosode with hemp kamishimo and departed home at 5:30 AM to ascend to the castle.
1. I had a messenger inform the inspector officials (metsuke) that I was ascending to the castle as substitute for Itakura Suō-no-kami.
1. Since Itakura Sakon Shōgen was also present, I discussed with him the proper procedures for when instructions would be given later.
1. Together with those on duty, we all went out to the Kari-no-ma (Wild Goose Room) where an inspector came and showed us a written notice with instructions.
1. Due to the rounds, according to the diagram of Fuyō-no-ma's veranda arrangement, we moved to position one and took our seats with the senior officials
