一 稽古例之通相済無程老衆登 城ニ而席え
罷出候御目付寄申来候間直御白書院松之御
廊下え罷越造酒次ニ致着座候
一 出御有之御礼衆順々相始造酒家督之御礼
申上夫ゟ自分義も罷出平伏内藤播磨守と

御礼の席などの件について打ち合わせをしておいた
一 今日は西丸へも出仕する日であったが、名代として登城するため
参らない旨を岩瀬予州へ申し達しておいた
一 稽古が例の通り済んで、程なく老中が登城したので席へ
出た。御目付が寄って来たので、直ちに御白書院松の御廊下へ
移り、造酒の次に着座した
一 出御があり御礼の衆が順々に始め、造酒が家督の御礼を
申し上げ、それから自分も出て平伏し、内藤播磨守として
披露があり退座した

1. As representative for my kinsman Harima-no-kami's retirement ceremony, I departed home after 6:30,
wearing bleached hemp formal attire and entered the castle
1. I had informed the inspector through the monks that I would appear as representative
1. Since my kinsman Miki was also present to offer gratitude for receiving the family headship,
we coordinated regarding the ceremonial seating arrangements
1. Today was also a day for service at the Western Palace, but since I was entering the castle
as a representative, I informed Iwase Yoshu that I would not attend there
1. The training session concluded as usual, and soon the senior councillors entered the castle, so I went to my seat.
When the inspector approached, I immediately proceeded to the white study's pine corridor
and took my seat next to Miki
1. The lord made his appearance and the ceremony participants began in order. Miki offered gratitude for receiving the family headship,
then I also came forward and prostrated myself, was announced as Naito Harima-no-kami,
and withdrew from my seat
