          御醫師             河野良以             杉本忠温 一 御先手御醫師は別席ニ罷有ル 一 自分儀跡目願進達と頼候間差添御先手   平岩六郎左衛門と得と打合置候 一 家老罷出口上申述候間是又相応致挨拶 一 跡目願書家老持出其節御先手御醫師出   席右願書自分前え六郎左衛門持参いたし候   間願書其外書付は各順覧相済何レも   存寄無之段自分ゟ家老え挨拶 一 夫ゟ料理出候間供揃申付置料理相済別席ニ而   麻上下着替供揃候間相客之衆え致挨拶   罷立先立用人え口上申置御用番え罷越 一 差添御先手願書其外書付致持参自分ゟ   先え御用番え罷越 一 御用番青山下野殿え罷越勝手え罷通用   人呼出し板倉伊豫守病気大切ニ付跡目願   差出候ニ付伺公仕候旨申述候 【以下次コマ】 

現代語訳

御医師 河野良以 杉本忠温 一、御先手と御医師は別席にいた 一、自分の跡目願いの進達を頼んだので、差添の御先手平岩六郎左衛門とよく打ち合わせをしておいた 一、家老が出てきて口上を申し述べたので、これにも適切に挨拶をした 一、跡目願書を家老が持ち出した際、御先手と御医師が出席し、その願書を六郎左衛門が自分の前に持参したので、願書その他の書付は各人が順次閲覧し終え、いずれも異存がない旨を自分から家老に挨拶した 一、それから料理が出されたので供揃えを申し付けておき、料理が済んだ後、別席で麻上下に着替え、供揃えをしたので来客の方々に挨拶をして立ち去った。まず用人に口上を申し置き、御用番のところへ向かった 一、差添の御先手が願書その他の書付を持参し、自分がまず御用番のところへ向かった 一、御用番の青山下野殿のところへ行き、勝手口から入って用人を呼び出し、板倉伊豫守が重病のため跡目願を差し出すことになったので伺いを立てる旨を申し述べた 【以下次ページに続く】

Physicians Kono Ryoi Sugimoto Tadaharu 1. The osente (advanced guard) and physicians were in separate seats 1. Since [I] requested the submission of my succession petition, [I] thoroughly coordinated with the accompanying osente Hiraiwa Rokuro-zaemon 1. When the chief retainer came out and stated his message, [I] also appropriately greeted him 1. When the chief retainer brought out the succession petition document, the osente and physicians were present, and Rokuro-zaemon brought that petition document before me. The petition and other documents were reviewed by each person in turn, and [I] conveyed greetings to the chief retainer that everyone had no objections 1. Then, as a meal was served, [I] had arranged for my retinue to be prepared. After the meal was finished, [I] changed into hemp kamishimo in a separate room, and with my retinue ready, [I] greeted the guests and departed. First, [I] left oral instructions with the retainer and proceeded to the duty officer 1. The accompanying osente brought the petition and other documents, and [I] went first to the duty officer 1.
