十一月一日
一　板倉百助の家督継承の御礼を申し上げるため、名代として熨斗目の長上下を着用し、午前六時頃に登城した。

一　いつものように控室にいたところ、坊主衆を通じて御目付から稽古（リハーサル）の知らせがあったので、直ちに御白書院の桜之間付近へ向かった。松平備前守殿も参勤の御礼を申し上げるため、自分より上座におられ、順番に稽古を済ませた。
　　ただし私は名代であるため、
　　上意のお取り合わせはなく、披露のみとのこと

一　その後、老中が登城したので席に出て、御目付から知らせがあり、直ちに大廊下へ向かった。そこから御前に出て名代の御礼を滞りなく済ませ、中之口廊下で板倉百助の留守居に会い、御礼が滞りなく済んだ旨を申し含め、直ちに退出した。

一　今日は月次の西丸登城日であったが、先例もあることから、名代では出仕しなかった。もっとも、この旨は念のため大目付朝比奈河内守へ申し伝えておいた。

1. To formally express gratitude for Itakura Hyakusuke's succession to family headship, I served as his representative, wearing noshime long kamishimo, and entered the castle around 6 AM.

1. While waiting in the usual waiting room, the monks' quarters conveyed a message from the metsuke about rehearsal, so I immediately proceeded to the vicinity of the Sakura-no-ma of the Goshiro-shoin. Matsudaira Bizen-no-kami was also there to express gratitude for his sankin attendance, and since he was seated above me, we completed the rehearsal in order.
However, since I was serving as a representative,
there would be no direct audience with the lord, only the formal announcement

1. After that, when the rōjū (senior councilors) arrived at the castle, I went to my seat. When the metsuke sent word, I immediately proceeded to the main corridor. From there, I appeared before his lordship and completed the representative's formal thanks without incident. In the Nakanokuchi corridor, I met with Itakura Hyakusuke's caretaker, informed him that the formal thanks had been completed successfully, and immediately withdrew.

1. Today was the monthly day for visiting the West Castle, but following precedent, I did not serve in my capacity as representative. However, I made sure to inform Ōmetsuke Asahina Kawachi-no-kami of this matter as a precaution.
