【見出し、囲み部分】黄蕙（おうけい）【囲みの外】葉はシランに似て広く柔らかい。花の形はランのようで、色は上質なウコン色である。葉に白い斑が入るものもあり、黄色の斑が入るものもある。これを「ほしけい」とも「ほしがんぜき」とも「こけい」とも言う。根元に球根があり、ガンゼキ（寒蘭）のようである。四月に花が咲く。

[Heading, boxed section] Ōkei (Yellow Cymbidium) [Outside box] The leaves resemble those of Shiran (Bletilla striata), broad and soft. The flower shape is like an orchid, with a color of fine turmeric yellow. Some have white spots on the leaves, others have yellow spots. This is also called "hoshi-kei," "hoshi-ganzekirk," or "ko-kei." There are bulbs at the base of the roots, like those of Ganzeki (Cymbidium kanran). Flowers bloom in the fourth month.
