帆を？少しは出帆し退敷す加藤直右衛門文九郎廃（黒字 ？）我
験動を聞届其後いざ今一志きりはたはたと可被
打懸と有けれは心得候と言う侭に逃延たる唐船に
押かけ追打に船により大筒打懸たり何が夜中之
事なればさして玉之越し下りも分明ならず少しは風
も有けれは唐船は帆に帆を持せ見る内に次第に沖へ
退敷す故に夫切に打止又夜中に廻り打なりける故は
誰人りは不知先船之未漕廻らざる内に打ち懸候さりて
唐船にも不当味方打無覚束ひややか成事有しか

心得可有事也扨唐船は沖へ退敷しけれは夫より
各々夜中に本之慈嶋へ引取ぬ翌日十五日には此唐船慈
嶋之後二三里程隔り漂流す然とも風雨はげしく中々
沖へ出打払事は思ひも不る寄天気なり唐船慈嶋之
後へ来りて漂流せし事万一風雨絶又は慈嶋より夜
前打払に出之事を不知と見へし唐船を夜討にせし事前
後初而也小役人は不便之次第也直右衛門才判へ而文
九朗村右衛門は同十六日に福岡へ帰る両人共に焼底
痛大切に有之 上より人々に拝領被仰付一年余に漸

帆を上げて少し出帆して退却する。加藤直右衛門が文九郎に「廃（？）我らの身悶えを聞き届けた、その後さあもう一度きりっと攻撃を仕掛けよう」と言うと、「心得ております」と言うやいなや、逃げ延びる唐船に押しかけ、追撃のため船によって大筒を打ちかけた。何分夜中のことなので、それほど弾の行方や着弾もはっきりとはわからず、少し風もあったので、唐船は帆に帆を重ねて見る間に次第に沖へ退却する。故にそれきりに撃ち止め、また夜中に回り撃ちになった理由は、誰のせいかはわからないが、まず船がまだ漕ぎ回らない内に撃ちかけたからである。されば唐船にも当たらず、味方撃ちも覚束なく、ややこしいことがあった。しかし度重なることもあるので、よく先を見て撃ち放つべきことなのだが、渡人（？）

心得ておくべきことである。さて唐船は沖へ退却したので、それより各々夜中に元の慈島へ引き取った。翌日十五日には、この唐船は慈島の後ろ二三里程隔たって漂流する。しかし風雨が激しく、とても沖へ出て打ち払うことは思いもよらない天気である。唐船が慈島の後ろへ来て漂流したのは、万一風雨が止んだり、また慈島より夜前に打ち払いに出たことを知らないと見える。唐船を夜討ちにしたのは前後初めてのことである。小役人は気の毒な次第である。直右衛門の才判により、文九郎と村右衛門は同十六日に福岡へ帰る。両人とも火傷が痛み大変な状態にあった。上より人々に拝領を仰せ付けられ、一年余りでようやく
