「右帖」
大筒を打懸られ上廻りに唐人壱人も不出ひ（朱字 ×）た打
に漕廻り八九十放懸兼而之任相図藤井勘左衛門
船より具を立しかば五艘も大筒打とめ矢止すると
其侭松本市郎右衛門下知して容竟之船手之十人小船
頭西村左平太宇佐美権右衛門古森七兵衛三人頭とる取して
唐船へ乗移る唐船は鯨船とは高下有けれは輙（たやすい）急には
不被登處中にも容竟の加子四五人唐船へ熊手鳶
口を打懸乗移り大勢の船手を手に手を取りて引揚
ゑい？出し皆々乗移り兼而用意之加け矢大なた
鉞（まさかり）を以上廻りを打破り働之邪魔に成ものを投

捨表舷に有る碇を四本大綱切って海に投け込其後手を
分船底に入唐人をさがし出し或は立ち向唐人をは棒鳶
口熊手に而打刈或は真向横面（づら）を打被り或は腰骨
を打なやし手に手に働けれは唐人とも恐れて皆皆
猶も船底に逃入けり其後は壺之類押或は俵之こと
起物樽巻物等之入たる箱打崩し鍋釜居（朱字 すえ）くど之
類に至る迠都而内に見へしもの悉く海に投入れ思ふ
侭に船中を敷りに騒動し最早舟子引取候得と
藤井松本より下知をなし皆皆本本の（朱字 の）船に取乗様子

「右帖」
大砲を打ちかけられ、上回りに唐人一人も出てこないまま、回り打ちに漕ぎ回り八、九十発かけた。かねてからの取り決め通り、藤井勘左衛門船より合図の具を立てたので、五艘も大砲の撃ち方をやめ、矢も止めた。そのまま松本市郎右衛門が下知して、精鋭の船手十人、小船頭西村左平太、宇佐美権右衛門、古森七兵衛の三人が頭となって、唐船へ乗り移った。唐船は鯨船とは高さが違うので、たやすくは急には登れない所であったが、その中でも精鋭の水夫四、五人が唐船へ熊手や鳶口を打ちかけて乗り移り、大勢の船手を手に手を取って引き上げた。みな乗り移って、かねてから用意していた竹槍や大なた、鉞で上回りを打ち破り、働きの邪魔になるものを投げ

捨てた。表舷にある錨を四本、大綱を切って海に投げ込んだ。その後手を分けて船底に入り唐人を探し出し、ある者は立ち向かう唐人を棒や鳶口、熊手で打ち倒し、ある者は真正面や横面を打ち据え、ある者は腰骨を打ち砕き、手に手に働いたので、唐人たちは恐れてみな船底に逃げ入った。その後は壺の類いを押し倒し、俵のような起き物や樽、巻物等の入った箱を打ち崩し、鍋釜や竃の類いに至るまで、すべて内に見えるものをことごとく海に投げ入れ、思うままに船中をひっかき回して騒動した。最早舟子は引き取るべしと藤井、松本より下知をなし、みなそれぞれ本来の船に取り乗った。様子を見れば、しばらくして唐人が船底より這い出て這い出てくる。

「Right Volume」
Having cannon fired upon them, with not a single Chinese person appearing on the upper deck, [our forces] rowed around in circular attacks, firing eighty to ninety shots. According to the predetermined arrangement, when Fujii Kanzaemon's boat raised the signal equipment, all five vessels ceased cannon fire and stopped shooting arrows. Immediately, Matsumoto Ichiro-emon gave the command, and ten elite naval personnel with boat captains Nishimura Saheta, Usami Gonemon, and Komori Shichibei as the three leaders boarded the Chinese ship. Since the Chinese ship had a different height than whaling vessels, it was not easy to climb aboard quickly, but among them, four or five elite sailors threw grappling hooks and boat hooks onto the Chinese ship, boarded it, and pulled up the large crew of naval personnel hand by hand. Once everyone had boarded, using the bamboo spears, large swords, and axes they had prepared beforehand, they broke through the upper deck and threw away anything that would hinder their work.

They cut the heavy ropes of four anchors on the starboard side and threw them into the sea. Afterward, they divided into groups, entered the ship's hold to search out the Chinese, with some striking down Chinese who resisted using poles, boat hooks, and grappling hooks, others striking them head-on or across the face, and others crushing their hip bones. Working with all their might, the Chinese became frightened and all fled into the ship's hold. After that, they knocked over jars and similar items, smashed boxes containing sacks and other cargo, barrels, scrolls, and the like, and threw everything visible inside—down to pots, pans, and stoves—into the sea, ransacking the ship's interior at will, causing great commotion. When Fujii and Matsumoto gave the command that the sailors should now withdraw, everyone returned to their respective original boats. Observing the situation, after a while the Chinese began crawling out from the ship's hold, one after another.
