そうこうするうちに、上使渡辺外記殿が小倉・若松方面からお引き取りになって長崎へお越しになることに伴い、三領ともにそれぞれ自分の領分に引き取って滞在している唐船打払い役人だけを派遣しておくことになった。
一 五月十九日、若松方面完全撤収以前に、慈島定番萩原左太夫、大島定番小島五左衛門、西村弥六方から注進があったのは、唐船が当月六日・七日頃から慈島・大島沖から十里内外のところに時々見えるという報告があったため、若松方面は小倉に対して完全撤収となったので、唐船が見える方角について慈島に唐船打払い役人を一通りは配置してあるが、若松から直接藤井勘左衛門、宮本

In the meantime, as the imperial envoy Watanabe Geki withdrew from the Kokura-Wakamatsu area and proceeded to Nagasaki, all three domains decided to withdraw to their respective territories and station only the officials responsible for repelling Chinese ships.
Item 1: On May 19th, before the complete withdrawal from the Wakamatsu area, reports came from Jishima garrison commander Hagiwara Sadayū, Ōshima garrison commander Kojima Gozaemon, and Nishimura Yaroku stating that Chinese ships had been spotted intermittently at a distance of about ten ri offshore from Jishima and Ōshima since around the 6th and 7th of this month. Since the Wakamatsu area was to be completely withdrawn in response to Kokura, officials for repelling Chinese ships were stationed at Jishima in the direction where the Chinese ships were sighted, but directly from Wakamatsu, Fujii Kanzaemon and Miyamoto
