未明に唐船に仕かけ拾挺之大筒を以込替込替打
懸風は少しも不吹唐船其所を不退故おもふ程打
懸る唐人ともは詮方なく徒に船底に入る唐船よき
程打損し明石三兵衛方より使船に而先矢止有之様
子之見斗候得と申越されし故矢止す夫より少し風
立唐人船底よりはい出帆を引廻し漸に出帆す暫
様子を見届弥会退處に付芦屋へ引取右唐船に
打懸し矢数会三百七拾六放此段早々福岡及注進
一 為交代同亥四月廿三日芦屋へ被差越御人数

「右帖」
未明に唐船に仕掛けて十挺の大筒で込め替え込め替え撃ち掛けた。風は少しも吹かず唐船はその場所を動かないので、思う程撃ち掛けることができた。唐人どもは詮方なく、ただ船底に隠れた。唐船をよい程度に撃ち損なわせ、明石三兵衛方より使船にて「まず矢止めがあったような様子を見計らってください」と申し越されたので矢止めした。それより少し風が立ち、唐人は船底より這い出て帆を引き回し、ようやく出帆した。しばらく様子を見届けたところ、いよいよ退去するので芦屋へ引き取った。右の唐船に撃ち掛けた矢数は合計三百七十六発。この段早々福岡に注進した。

"Right Volume"
At dawn, they attacked the Chinese ship, firing repeatedly with ten large cannons, loading and reloading. There was no wind at all and the Chinese ship did not move from that position, so they were able to fire as much as they intended. The Chinese crew had no choice but to hide in the ship's hold. Having damaged the Chinese ship to a good extent, a message came from Akashi Sanbei's group via messenger boat saying "Please assess whether there appears to be a ceasefire," so they ceased fire. Then a little wind arose, and the Chinese crew crawled out from the ship's hold, adjusted their sails, and finally set sail. After observing the situation for a while and confirming that they were indeed withdrawing, they returned to Ashiya. The total number of shots fired at the aforementioned Chinese ship was 376. This matter was promptly reported to Fukuoka.
