やましめさるやうにとの教は。湮れ没みて語り伝ふ

病気にならないようにという教えは、埋もれて忘れ去られ、これを語り伝える人も稀になってしまった。播磨の国の児島という人が、これを深く嘆いて、産婦の患いを予め救うべき『母子草』というかな文字の書物を著した。これは他の病気よりも、出産は一層に普段の慎みが必要であるから、まずこの書物から始めるのがよいだろう。実際、女性は思慮が浅く迷いやすいものであるから、普段の慎みを怠りがちで、出産に臨んでから初めて驚き恐れて、
