一諸道駅々幷在村継諸払人足賃下ケ渡方取
計伺
庚午四月以来諸道駅法御改正後当寮
幷諸局出張先ヨリ差立候御用状御用物等
駅々在村共賃銭諸払ニ而継立確証有之
分右下ケ渡方之儀ハ戻リ人足帳ヲ以テ夫々取
調可申筈ニ有之然ルニ遠隔多数之継立
自然右帳面破切致シ或ハ端紙之請取書途
上紛失等屢有之而己歟脇往還幷辺鄙之在
村ニ至リ候而者継立里数ハ勿論賃銭等モ不附
立甚敷ハ村名モ不書載向モ有之旁取調方何
分難行届候ニ付右管轄限リ別紙雛形之振
合ヲ以至急取調為差出候様致シ度且向後
之分モ壱ケ月限リ取調駅村共直ニ当寮江為
差出度依之府県ヨリノ請書案幷別紙雛形

一、諸街道の宿駅および在村における継送諸経費人足賃下げ渡し方取り計らいについての伺い
庚午四月以来、諸街道宿駅法御改正の後、当寮および諸局の出張先より差し立てる御用状・御用物等について、宿駅・在村共に賃銭諸経費にて継送を行い、確証のある分については、右下げ渡し方の件は戻り人足帳をもってそれぞれ取り調べ申すはずであります。しかしながら、遠隔地での多数の継送においては、
自然と右の帳面が破損したり、あるいは端紙の受取書を途上で紛失することがしばしばあるばかりか、脇往還および辺鄙な在村に至っては、継送里数はもちろん賃銭等も記載せず、甚だしくは村名も書き載せない向きもあり、ともに取り調べ方がなかなか行き届かない状況です。そのため、右管轄の限りで別紙雛形の振り合いをもって至急取り調べ、差し出すよう致したく、かつ今後の分も一ヶ月限りで取り調べ、駅村共に直に当寮へ差し出したく存じます。これにより府県よりの請書案および別紙雛形を相添え、この段お伺い申し上げます。

Article: Inquiry regarding the method of distributing payment for labor costs for various post stations on highways and relay services in villages
Since the fourth month of Kanoe-Uma [1870], following the reform of the post station laws on various highways, official correspondence and official goods dispatched from this bureau and various departments to their outposts have been relayed by both post stations and villages through payment of wages and various expenses, and for those with confirmed evidence, the distribution of such payments should be investigated using return labor registers. However, for relay services over long distances and in large numbers,
these registers naturally become damaged, or receipt slips on scraps of paper are frequently lost en route. Moreover, on secondary routes and in remote villages, not only are relay distances and wages often not recorded, but in extreme cases, even village names are not written down, making thorough investigation difficult to achieve. Therefore, within the jurisdiction of the aforementioned areas, we wish to urgently investigate and submit reports using the format of the attached model forms, and also for future cases, to investigate within one month limits and have both post stations and villages submit directly to this bureau. Accordingly, we hereby submit this inquiry along with draft request forms from prefectures and attached model forms.
