二十日
一 紀州熊野浦の内大島浦という所に異国船二艘が停泊していたため、漁師たちが立ち寄って見たところ、決して近所へは寄らず鉄砲を撃ち出した由。右の件を早々に和歌山の役所へ届け出て、人数等を差し出し、もちろん公辺への伺いもあった由。兵船には違いないが、異国同士の兵船の様子に見えた由。

20th day
One: Two foreign ships anchored at a place called Ōshima-ura within Kumano-ura in Kii Province. When local fishermen approached to observe them, the ships would not come near shore and fired cannons. This matter was promptly reported to the Wakayama administrative office, personnel were dispatched, and naturally there were inquiries to the central government. While they were certainly warships, they appeared to be foreign warships engaged with each other.

As these individuals have now recovered their health, a notification of their recovery was submitted.
