一 此節盗賊等有之趣相聞候
之付廻之者相糺候之間夜

等も不差出候様致可申事
一 盗賊入候はゝ糺之上手懸相成
候間早々頭支配迄可被届事
一 盗賊召捕方手懸りに成候儀幷
不審成者は改見聞候はゝ書付
包封致頭支配へ相届にも不及
御目付え可差出候

右の通り、この度両卿が参向の節、道中の作法を格別厳重に取り扱ったため、御褒美として下されたとのことです。

一 この節、盗賊等がいるとの話を聞いたため、廻りの者を調べている間、夜中はやむを得ない用事以外は、なるべく使者等も差し出さないようにすること
一 盗賊が入った場合は調べた上で手がかりとなるため、早々に頭支配まで届け出ること
一 盗賊召し捕りの手がかりになる事柄並びに不審な者について、改めて見聞きした場合は書付を包封して頭支配へ届け出るまでもなく、御目付へ差し出すこと

1. As we have heard that there are bandits and thieves in the area at this time, while we are investigating the people in the vicinity, during nighttime hours, except for unavoidable business, messengers and servants should not be sent out as much as possible.
1. If bandits break in, after investigation this will serve as evidence, so report promptly to the head administrator (kashira-shihai).
1. Regarding matters that may serve as clues for capturing bandits, as well as suspicious persons, if such things are observed upon inspection, write a report, seal it in an envelope, and submit it directly to the inspector (metsuke) without need to report to the head administrator.
