五月八日九日頃、岩屋定番新野半六より注進があった。唐船が岩屋崎より十五、六里沖に見えると申し出た。
同月十一日朝、唐船がその高帆を張って西の方へ航行し、昼までには帆が見えなくなった。帆を下ろしたと思われるとの注進があった。物見からの指図では、唐船がもはや見えなくなった
「左帖」
場合は、まず様子を見て引き取るべきだと申し越してきた。二十三日が交代日に当たるが、唐船が見えるので交代せずに引き取るべきだと福岡から申し越してきた。しかし二十三日、藍の島の遠見から、はるか遠方の下海の方に唐船が連なって見えると申し越してきたので、二十三日には引き取らず、明石三兵衛方より福岡へ報告があり、二十七日に交代の通達があった。交代の名簿は前に記載している。
一 子年六月二十三日、大島前で南京船が座礁破損した件は次の通り
唐船漂流が完全に止んだ旨を領内より江戸へ報告があった。

Around the 8th and 9th days of the 5th month, there was a report from Niino Hanroku, the permanent guard at Iwaya, stating that a Chinese ship was visible about fifteen or sixteen ri offshore from Iwaya Cape.
On the morning of the 11th of the same month, the Chinese ship hoisted its high sail and sailed westward, and by noon the sails were no longer visible. It appeared that the ship had lowered its sails, according to the report. Instructions from the lookout stated that if the Chinese ship was no longer visible,

they should first observe the situation and then withdraw. The 23rd was scheduled as the rotation day, but since the Chinese ship was still visible, Fukuoka instructed not to rotate but to withdraw. However, on the 23rd, the lookout at Ai-no-shima reported that Chinese ships could be seen in a line far away toward the lower sea, so they did not withdraw on the 23rd. There was a report from Akashi Sanbei's unit to Fukuoka, and the rotation order came on the 27th. The rotation roster is listed above.
