竹の間

本文には（御三家が）お立ちになる節にお出迎えした所まで送って留まる旨が記されているけれども、近例では御三家のお跡について桜の間までお送りに出る。奏者番も桜の間まで先立って案内する由。桜の間では御床を後ろにして着座する由。御三家は御部屋の方の上座に座る事。
但し雁の間の御襖際の初めにお迎えに出た所へ、（御三家が）お立ちになる節も着座し、それから御跡について桜の間までお送りに出る事との由。
右は明和三年（丙戌）大納言様御元服御祝儀の御能の節に、牧野越中殿・青山下野殿が勤められた様子を、大岡式部少輔殿から借り写し置いたもの。右の外、この留書の通り何も変わる事はない。これに依って別に記さず、書き込み置くものである。

Although the main text states that when (the Three Branch Houses) depart, one should escort them to the place where they were welcomed and remain there, according to recent precedent, one follows behind the Three Branch Houses to escort them to the Sakuranoma. The announcer-attendants also proceed ahead to guide them to the Sakuranoma. In the Sakuranoma, they sit with the raised platform behind them. The Three Branch Houses take their seats in the upper position toward the chamber side.
However, at the beginning by the sliding doors of the Karinoma where one went out to welcome them, when (the Three Branch Houses) depart, one also sits there, and then follows behind to escort them to the Sakuranoma.
The above describes how Lords Makino Etchū and Aoyama Shimotsuke served during the Noh performance for the coming-of-age celebration of His Excellency the Dainagon in the third year of Meiwa (1766, year of the Fire Dog). This was copied and recorded from Lord Ōoka Shikibu-shōyū. Apart from this, nothing differs from what is written in these records. Therefore, nothing else is separately recorded, and this is noted as an addendum.
