三年のうちに彼岸にあたるものは上等、あたらぬは下等の死と言うけれど、与一兵衛も勘平もその年の八月、彼岸にあたったのでこれも嘘に決まったが、今では大きに心得違いをして、三年の内にあたる人は酒好き、あたらぬは下戸と覚えたのもおかしい。
「雨やんでほしい。仏様、雨よ、止んでくれ」
「この降りようでは彼岸参りもいたしようがございません」
「明日が中日ならば、おらが家も講場でも変わりはなるまい」
