ホトトギスの会がある
昔は時鳥というものは山にばかり出るものと見えて、古歌にはとかく「山ホトトギス」と詠んでございます。山では餌に困りそうなことを。
「そう呑んではいけないよ、ホトトギスさん」
「まず籠のお仕置きが、きつい物だ」
「鉄縁に籠をかけたか。ホトトギス、なんとどうだろうねえ」
英語訳
There is a gathering for cuckoos (hototogisu).
In ancient times, the cuckoo seemed to appear only in the mountains, so in old poems they invariably composed about "mountain cuckoos." In the mountains, they would likely have trouble finding food.
"Don't drink so much, Mr. Cuckoo."

"Did they hang the cage on the iron rim? Cuckoo, what do you think of that?"
