〳〵して此桜五代に及ぶとりわき枝葉しげり花の
いろをまし木ぶりうらをもてなく見る人花の姿（すがた）に
日の暮るを惜（おし）む
塩ぎぬの名はふりしかどつたへこし
わか木の花のさかりをぞ見る

よみたれど此荻の風はうはならぬ所を
賞（せう）せり手がらといふべし

現代語訳
〳〵（続き）して、この桜は五代に及んでおり、とりわけ枝葉が茂り、花の色も美しく、木の姿も裏表なく美しい。見る人は花の姿に日の暮れるのを惜しむのである。
塩ぎぬの名は古いけれども、伝え来た
若木の花の盛りを見ることよ
▲姫荻（ひめおぎ） 近代の名所である。荻の上風と歌に詠まれているが、この荻の風は上辺だけでない所を賞賛している。手柄というべきである。
