入たれど此ふちのみ名勝（めいせう）たり

この場所にとどまって淵となる。この深川の水は所々へ流れ入っているが、この淵のみが名勝である。

▲かほるの浜 昔この場所の塩釜に塩木を折って燃やした時、名木があって不思議な香りを放つゆえに「かほるの浜」という。今もその余香でえも言われぬ良い香りがあるが、この浜は風が乱れることがしばしばで、塩釜の煙が北になびいたり南になびいたりすることが手のひらを返すようである。
