現代語訳
▲から崎 日本の唐崎に例えた名である。一本の松の座敷は華やかで、必ず落ち着いており、とりわけ雨の眺めはしっとりとして趣がある。「唐崎の松は花よりおぼろにて」という翁（芭蕉）の吟に自然とかなっている。
▲半太夫村 この一村はみな楽人（音楽師）である。常に楽器をもてあそんで、夜も眠ることを知らず、烏が（空を）渡る頃にようやく眠気を催すという、一興な村である。

The pine-adorned parlor is lively, invariably settled and composed, and especially on rainy days the view becomes quietly and pleasingly subdued. This naturally accords with the old master's (Bashō's) verse: "The pine of Karasaki, more hazy than the cherry blossoms."
▲Handayū Village Every resident of this village is a musician. They constantly amuse themselves with musical instruments and do not know sleep even at night; it is said that drowsiness finally comes upon them only around the time the crows fly across the sky—a most entertaining village indeed.
