差上申一札之事
一 当村石切之儀村中取調書上仕候処此外壱人も
無御座候猶亦石切稼ニ罷出旅先ニ而石切
弟子等召抱不申候旅先実躰ニ相廻り不申候
具ニ申聞候迄一々承知仕候若此上ニ茂不吟味
成儀有之候而後日御聞被成候ハヽ其御元ゟ
早速御注進可成候其上何様之御咎筋被
仰付候共少茂御恨申間敷候為後日連印
一札仍而如件

差し上げ申し上げる一札の件
一、当村の石切の件について、村中で取り調べて報告いたしましたところ、この他に一人もございません。なお、石切稼業のために出かけた旅先において、石切の弟子等を雇い入れることはいたしません。旅先の実情についても詳しく調べてまいりません。詳細について申し聞かせられたことについて、一つ一つ承知いたしました。もしこの上にも調べが不十分な事柄があって、後日お聞きになられましたら、そのお元から早速ご報告申し上げます。その上で、どのようなお咎めをお申し付けになられても、少しも恨み言は申しません。後日のために連名で一札を差し上げます。よって件の通りです。

A Written Pledge Respectfully Submitted
Item: Regarding the matter of stone cutters in our village, we have investigated throughout the village and reported our findings. There are no others besides those already reported. Furthermore, when traveling to engage in stone cutting work, we will not employ stone cutting apprentices at our destinations. We will not make detailed inquiries into the actual conditions at our travel destinations. We have understood each and every point that has been explained to us in detail. Should there be any matter that we have failed to investigate properly and you hear of it later, we will immediately report it from our side. Moreover, whatever punishment you may impose upon us, we will harbor no resentment whatsoever. We submit this joint pledge for future reference. Thus, as stated herein.
