現代語訳
その時に親玉がしきりに眠気が差してきたところに、土蜘蛛の妖怪が間近に迫るのと同時に、九谷の煙管で足を打ち落とす。これより「蜘蛛打ちの煙管」と名付けなさった。さりながら煙草を吸う折は毒々しく思われた。
その足をまた、この代わりに刺身包丁で早し、すぐもにして上れば一角が大分安いから、こうしゃれねばいたい痛い。
