まんまん先生はよい機会だと江ノ島へ参詣し、また金の要る慰みを思いつき、漁師どもに一様の揃いの深田を染めて着せ、地引き網をさせたところ、案外にも海川に廃れる金々魚にまして、おびただしく上がったゆえ、心ならずもまた金が増えて困ってしまった。

英語訳
Manman-sensei took this as a good opportunity to make a pilgrimage to Enoshima, and thinking up another costly amusement, he had the fishermen dye matching fukada garments and made them perform seine net fishing. Unexpectedly, they caught an enormous amount of golden fish from the sea, even more abundant than the declining fish populations in rivers and seas, so against his wishes, his money increased again and he was troubled.
