Headquarters officers and other samurai stayed at Wakamatsu, Tobata, and Shitara village, lodged at temples,

On the same 3rd of the second month, word came from Fukuoka that the unpaid artillery officers at Wakamatsu: Hayashi
Gotayū, Wakamatsu Jihei, Okamoto Santayū, Ogata Hikoshichi, Okamoto Sōtayū,
Hasegawa Sadahachi, Fujino Kyūhachi, Takahashi Matatarō, Kusaba Unosuke - these
nine men were granted three-person stipends during their service at Wakamatsu, as announced by Kuno
Zenemon. Seven assistants were also granted two-person stipends during their service, as announced by
Hayashi Bunemon, Usuki Yaemon, and Wakamatsu Jintayū.
