御自分ニ御書附被成候而御取被成候叓是又大筒打へ船
壱領切に四五艘程出シ申候様にとの御書出し被仰
出ニ付小早船五艘乗り之御筒役拾人ニ最初被仰付く

以上拾人最初被仰付候筒役と一同ニ来ル廿八日ニ若松へ
罷越候様ニと被仰渡候事《割書：是迄御筒役ノ役儀ニ而は無之候得共此節被仰付候｜右いつれもし申なしに然る左仕居候士也》
一御筒役頭取三人方より御願置候は此度大切之場所之儀ニ
御座之間大筒打申候者ヲ手伝ニ被仰付被下候様ニ御願
宜御願之通被仰付大筒手伝御側筒畑九兵衛親

天野与左衛門・丹安左衛門、御船手頭松本主殿・松本《見せ消ち：重右衛門｜市郎右衛門》・宮本伝太夫、浦奉行沢木藤右衛門・大塩治兵衛、筒役頭取林文右衛門・臼杵弥右衛門・若松甚太夫、右の面々へ唐船打ち払いの御下知、御手当について詳細に仰せ渡された。御船数大小の船・浦舟・御手加子・浦水主の人数積もり・船数の御積もりがある。第一に大筒にて打ち払う様子を仰せ渡され、また打ち方の次第を詳しくお聞きになりたい由、ひとえに御手当・船合わせが相済み、式部殿が打ち方の儀について詳細に御自分で御書付をなされ、お取り扱いになった。これまた大筒打ちへ船一領につき四、五艘程出すようにとの御書出しを仰せ出されたことにより、小早船五艘乗りの御筒役十人に最初に仰せ付けられた。

この外に御用心のためにまた十人御手当をなされ、ありがたく存じる間、三人の門弟の内より書き出すようにと仰せ付けられ、名付けて差し出したところ、則ち左の人数である。
一、同二十六日、御館において御月番平馬殿より仰せ渡された。抱え大筒打ち：神田新作・西川惣左衛門・嶋井勘兵衛・岡本三太夫・同丑太夫・小方彦七・長谷川貞八・藤野久八・草葉卯之介・高鍋又太郎
以上十人、最初に仰せ付けられた筒役と一同に来る二十八日に若松へ罷り越すようにと仰せ渡されたこと《内訳：これまで御筒役の役儀ではなかったが、この節仰せ付けられた｜右いずれもし申なしに然る左仕居候士也》

Amano Yozaemon, Tan Anzaemon, naval head Matsumoto Shuden, Matsumoto 《strikethrough: Jūemon｜Ichirōemon》, Miyamoto Dentayū, harbor magistrates Sawaki Tōemon and Ōshio Jihei, cannon role supervisors Hayashi Bunemon, Usuki Yaemon, and Wakamatsu Jintayū - detailed orders regarding the repelling of Chinese ships and preparations were issued to all these individuals. There are estimates for the number of ships both large and small, harbor boats, sailors, and harbor crew, as well as ship number calculations. First, the method of repelling with large cannons was ordered, and [the lord] wished to hear the procedures for firing in detail. After the preparations and ship arrangements were completed, Lord Shikibu personally wrote detailed instructions regarding firing methods and took charge of them. Furthermore, orders were issued to deploy about four or five boats per ship unit for large cannon firing, and ten cannon operators on five small fast boats were initially appointed.

In addition to this, as a precaution, another ten men were prepared, and we are grateful for this. [The lord] ordered that names be submitted from among three disciples' groups, and the following personnel were nominated and submitted:
One: On the same 26th day, at the mansion, monthly duty officer Lord Heima issued orders. Retained large cannon operators: Kanda Shinsaku, Nishikawa Sōzaemon, Shimai Kanbei, Okamoto Santayū, the same Ushitayū, Ogata Hikoshichi, Hasegawa Sadahachi, Fujino Kyūhachi, Kusaba Unosuke, Takanabe Matarō.
The above ten men, together with the initially appointed cannon operators, were ordered to proceed to Wakamatsu on the coming 28th day 《note: Until now these were not official cannon operator positions, but were appointed at this time｜All of the above are samurai serving without stipend in such manner》
One: The request submitted by the three cannon role supervisors was that since this is a matter of crucial importance, they requested that assistants for those firing large cannons be appointed. Their request was granted as wished, and large cannon assistant Otsubo Kyūbei's parent [was appointed]
