罷成様可申付之旨寺社奉行町奉行御勘定

薩摩守が同行させて参府したい旨を書付を以って伺いを立てた。中山王自身の継目御礼の使者についても、御代替わりに際して差し越した使者と一同に同行させて参府すべき旨が年寄共より達せられた。

一、松平薩摩守は閏八月二十六日に参勤のため国元を出立し、また中山王からの両使者を一同に同行させた段について書状が到来した。

一、琉球人が通行する道筋の品川辺りで見物する大勢の人々があるであろう。琉球人の駕籠や輿等を人が多く楽しんで見るため、場所が広くなければ通行が困難である。見物の者共が道の障害とならないよう申し付けるべき旨を、寺社奉行・町奉行・勘定奉行へ書付を以って申し達した。

Satsuma-no-kami submitted a formal inquiry through a written document expressing his desire to bring [the envoys] along for his visit to Edo. Regarding the envoy for the King of Chūzan's own succession congratulations, it was communicated by the senior councilors that they should accompany the visit to Edo together with the envoys sent for the shogunal succession.

Item: Matsudaira Satsuma-no-kami departed from his domain on the 26th day of the intercalary 8th month for his sankin attendance, and a letter arrived [reporting] that he brought along both envoys from the King of Chūzan.
11th month, 3rd day, clear weather
Item: There will likely be large crowds of spectators along the route where the Ryukyuans will pass, around the Shinagawa area. Since many people will enjoy watching the Ryukyuans' palanquins and litters, it will be difficult for them to pass through without spacious areas. Instructions were communicated through written documents to the Temples and Shrines Magistrate, Town Magistrate, and Finance Magistrate that spectators should be directed not to become obstacles blocking the road.
