　修朝請航溟渤以歸誠乃涖職止於三年嗣封闕於
　再世眷言藩服方期多福之是膺勉樹嘉猷詎意修
　齡之難得訃音遠告褒䘏特申雖錫命未逮於生前
　而榮施實隆於身後爰頒祭醊用遣專官嗚呼玉冊
　遥傳庶慰來王之志綸函覃被聿昭撫遠之忱載設

現代語訳

内外を問わず、並びに予が輯綏するところであり、凡そ賓貢するところは存恤を忘れず、功ある者には必ず報い、遠方であろうとも遺漏することなし。これは懐柔を示し巨典を昭らかにするゆえなり。爾琉球国王世子尚益は、先王を承け祚を受け、志を継いで忠を輪し、世々勲労を著す。球を奉じて内向し、代々朝請を修め、溟渤を航して誠を帰す。乃ち職に涖むこと止だ三年、嗣封は再世を闕く。藩服を眷言すれば、方に多福の是れ膺るを期し、嘉猷を勉樹せんとするに、詎んぞ意わん修齢の得難きを。訃音遠く告げられ、褒恤特に申す。命を錫ること生前に未だ逮ばずと雖も、而も栄施実に身後に隆なり。爰に祭醊を頒ち、専官を遣わして用いしむ。嗚呼、玉冊遥かに伝えて、庶わくは来王の志を慰めん。綸函覃被して、聿に撫遠の忱を昭らかにす。載ち牲犠を設け、庶わくは其れ歆格せん。

英語訳

Whether interior or exterior, all are equally under my care and pacification. All those who offer tribute are not forgotten in our benevolent concern, and those with merit are surely rewarded, none are overlooked even in distant places. This is to demonstrate tender care and illuminate the great ceremonies. You, Crown Prince Sho Eki of the Kingdom of Ryukyu, inherited from your predecessor and received the throne, continued his aspirations and demonstrated loyalty, generation after generation establishing meritorious service. Serving the realm and turning inward [toward China], generation after generation maintaining court attendance, sailing across the vast seas to return with sincerity. You served in office for only three years, and the succession was interrupted for two generations. Reflecting upon this vassal territory, we had hoped you would receive manifold blessings and strive to establish excellent plans, but who could have expected that longevity would be so difficult to attain. News of your death reached us from afar, and we specially extend this commendation and condolence. Though the bestowal of rank did not reach you during your lifetime, the honor bestowed is truly abundant after your death. We hereby distribute this sacrificial ceremony and dispatch a special official to conduct it. Alas! The jade册 is transmitted from afar, hoping to console the aspirations of the departed king. The imperial edict extends its coverage, clearly demonstrating our sincere care for distant lands. We establish sacrificial offerings, hoping that your spirit will accept and descend.
