中山王府

天使館から中山王府まで十里

冊封の日、先王廟から東に向かって、紅帽の役人が儀仗を並べて道の両側に列をなし、王宮まで続く。先王廟から南に折れて八幡橋となり、さらに東に進んで岡を過ぎること二里ばかりで差囘橋に至る。これは茶崎とも呼ばれる。岡を上って東に向かうと萬松嶺となり、石の道は整備されている。岡や峰が起伏し、松はみな数抱えもある大木で、道の両側に森のように立ち並んでいる。さらに進むと萬歳嶺となる。さらに半里ほど進むと、「中山道」と書かれた坊門がある。南には安國寺があり、寺の向かいには削り取ったような石垣が累々と築かれ、これが世子の邸宅である。道の両側はすべて砥石を積んだ低い石垣で、高さは三、四尺ある。道の中央には鳳蕉が一叢植えられ、石を積み重ねてそれを囲んでいる。また半里ほど進むと、「守禮之邦」と書かれた坊門があり、中山王が伏

Chuzan Royal Palace

From the Imperial Envoy's Lodge to the Chuzan Royal Palace is ten ri.

On the day of investiture, from the Former King's Shrine eastward, officials wearing red caps arranged ceremonial guards lining both sides of the road extending to the royal palace. Turning south from the Former King's Shrine leads to Hachiman Bridge, then continuing east and passing over a hill for about two ri leads to Sashi-mawari Bridge, also called Chasaki. Going up the hill and heading east becomes Bansho Ridge, where the stone road is well-maintained. The hills and peaks rise and fall, with pine trees all several arm-spans in circumference standing like a forest along both sides of the road. Proceeding further leads to Banzai Ridge. Advancing another half ri or so, there is an archway inscribed "Chuzan Road." To the south is Ankoku Temple, and across from the temple, walls are piled up like carved stone forming the Crown Prince's residence. The roadsides are all low stone walls made of whetstone, three to four shaku in height. In the middle of the road, there is a cluster of phoenix bananas surrounded by piled stones.
