現代語訳

大納言様がますますご機嫌よくお過ごしのこと、恐れ多くも嬉しく存じます。さて、将軍の代替わりに際して使者を以ってお祝いを申し上げる件について、薩摩守にお願い申し上げましたところ、仰せ渡されました通り前例に従って奉ります。お祝いとして今回具志川王子を差し上げます。併せて太刀一腰、馬一匹並びに目録の通り献上いたします。よろしくお取り計らいくださいますよう、お頼み申し上げます。誠に恐縮ながら謹んで申し上げます。

英語訳

I am filled with joy to know that His Excellency the Dainagon continues in excellent health and spirits. Regarding the matter of sending an envoy to offer congratulations on the occasion of the change of shōgun, I made a request through the Lord of Satsuma, and as instructed, I shall proceed according to previous precedent. As congratulatory gifts, I am now sending Prince Gushikawa. Along with this, I respectfully present one tachi sword, one horse, and other items as listed in the accompanying catalog. I humbly request your favorable consideration of these matters. With utmost reverence and humility.
