されば之を救（すくひ）がたきもの多し。初発（しよほつ）に
は。まづ舌交（くさめ）薬をはなへ吹入て。嚏（くさめ）をさす
べし。くさめぐすりは。皀莢（さうけふ）。細辛（さいしん）二味の
細末（こ）。胡椒（こせう）の細末（こ）筥根（はこね）のくさめぐさ。木（はな）
藜蘆（ひりぐさ）の類。あまりに急卒（にはか）にしてこれ
らを求る間もなき時は。烟草（たばこ）の末（こ）。又は
半夏（はんげ）の末（こ）。薄荷（はくか）の末か。白芥子（からし）の末に
ても。はやく鼻（はな）へつよく吹入て。嚏（くさめ）をさ
すべし。これらの薬を吹入るには。まづ紙

左右ともによく鼻の底（そこ）まで通るやう
に吹こみて後。結髪（たぶさ）をとりて頭（かしら）を提起（ひきおこす）

つくものなれば。まづ吐法を行（おこなふ）べし。はき
薬のことは。次のく【くの右に長四角】の部の霍乱（くわくらん）の條（くだり）に
いふべし。肩（かた）より血を瀉（とる）ことは。時の宜（よろしき）に
従（したかふ）へく。且（かつ）素人（しらうと）には行がたきことも
あれば。毉（い）の来るをまちてもよし。灸
は天 枢（すう）か。前の痢病（りひやう）の條（ところ）に記（しるし）たる八花
の灸よし。正気（しやうき）つけば。右か左か半身
却（かへつ）て不遂（ふきゝ）になるもの也。吐を得て後
に。下 剤（ざい）を用ひ。大便通利したるのちに。
附子（ぶし）。天南星（てんなんしやう）。細辛（さいしん）。木香（もくかう）四味。各一匁二分
に。生姜四五片を加へ。水一合五勺を六勺
に煎じ用ふべし。或（あるひ）は千金方の附子（ぶし）
散（さん）。和剤局方の三 生飲（しやういん）などの単方（やくみすくな）に
て効（しるし）ある方も。また多し。其 佗（ほか）證（しやう）に
応（おう）じてさま〴〵に処方（くすり）の差別（しやべつ）はあ
れど。此（こゝ）にはたゞ急卒（にはかなる）を救（すくふ）べき片端（かたはし）を
記（しるし）たるまでなりと思ふべし▲蕎麦（そば）に
あたりたるには。牡蠣（かき）の生汁（なましる）をのむ
べし。楊梅皮（やうばいひ）と薬店にていふ。やまもゝの
木の皮（かは）を細末（さいまつ）して。さゆにて用ふるか。又
は煎じて用るもよし。この二品は。しば〳〵
試（こゝろみ）て確（たしか）に効（しるし）あることを知（し）れり。萊菔（だいこん）の搾（しぼり）
汁も。又よく蕎麦（そば）の毒を解（げ）するもの也。
香橙皮（くわんぼのかは）の搗（つき）てしぼりとりたる生汁も
また効ありといへり。これも又心得べし。
現代語訳
それ故、これを救いがたいものが多い。初発には、まず嚏薬（くしゃみ薬）を鼻へ吹き入れて、くしゃみをさせるべきである。くしゃみ薬は、皀莢（サイカチ）、細辛の二味の細末、胡椒の細末、箱根のくしゃみ草、木藜蘆（ハナビシソウ）の類である。あまりに急であってこれらを求める間もない時は、煙草の末、または半夏の末、薄荷の末か、白芥子（からし）の末でも、早く鼻へ強く吹き入れて、くしゃみをさせるべきである。これらの薬を吹き入れるには、まず紙をひねって、鼻水をきれいに取ってから後に、左右ともによく鼻の奥まで通るように吹き込んで後、髪を取って頭を引き起こすべきである。このようにしてくしゃみが出るものは、やがて正気がつくものであるから、まず吐法を行うべきである。吐き薬のことは、次の霍乱の条で述べよう。肩から血を取ることは、時の都合に従うべく、かつ素人には行いがたいこともあるから、医者の来るのを待ってもよい。灸は天枢か、前の痢病の条に記した八花の灸がよい。正気がつけば、右か左か半身がかえって不随になるものである。吐を得た後に、下剤を用い、大便が通じた後に、附子、天南星、細辛、木香の四味、各一匁二分に、生姜四五片を加え、水一合五勺を六勺に煎じて用いるべきである。あるいは千金方の附子散、和剤局方の三生飲などの処方の少ない方で効果のある方も、また多い。その他症状に応じてさまざまに処方の違いはあるが、ここではただ急な場合を救うべき一端を記したまでであると思うべきである。
蕎麦に当たったには、牡蠣の生汁を飲むべきである。楊梅皮と薬店で言う、やまももの木の皮を細末にして、さ湯で用いるか、または煎じて用いるのもよい。この二品は、しばしば試して確かに効果があることを知っている。大根の搾り汁も、またよく蕎麦の毒を解するものである。香橙皮（だいだいの皮）を搗いて搾り取った生汁もまた効果があると言われている。これもまた心得るべきである。

Therefore, many cases are difficult to save. In the initial outbreak, first blow sneezing medicine into the nose to induce sneezing. Sneezing medicines include fine powder of gleditsia and asarum (two ingredients), fine powder of black pepper, sneezing grass from Hakone, and wood hellebore. When the situation is too urgent to obtain these, use tobacco powder, or pinellia powder, mint powder, or white mustard seed powder - quickly blow these strongly into the nose to induce sneezing. When blowing these medicines in, first twist paper to clean out nasal discharge, then blow well into both nostrils so it reaches the depths of the nose, after which grasp the hair and lift up the head. When sneezing occurs this way, consciousness will soon return, so first perform the vomiting method. The matter of emetic medicines will be discussed in the next section on sudden turmoil disorder. Taking blood from the shoulder should follow what is appropriate for the time, and since it may be difficult for laypeople to perform, it is acceptable to wait for a doctor to come. For moxibustion, use Tenshu point, or the eight-flower moxibustion recorded in the previous section on dysentery is good. When consciousness returns, either the right or left half of the body may become paralyzed instead. After achieving vomiting, use purgatives, and after the bowels move, use four ingredients - aconite, arisaema, asarum, and costus root, 1.2 monme each, add 4-5 slices of fresh ginger, decoct 1.5 go of water down to 0.6 go and use. Alternatively, there are many effective simple formulas such as aconite powder from the Thousand Gold Prescriptions or Three Fresh Decoction from the Formulary of the Pharmacy Service. There are various prescription differences depending on other symptoms, but here I have merely recorded one approach for rescuing urgent cases.
For buckwheat poisoning, drink fresh oyster juice. What pharmacies call yangmei bark - the bark of the bayberry tree - should be made into fine powder and used with hot water, or decocted and used. I know from frequent trials that these two items are certainly effective. Pressed daikon radish juice also effectively neutralizes buckwheat toxin. Fresh juice obtained by pounding and pressing bitter orange peel is also said to be effective. This should also be kept in mind.
