にては。肥前瘡（ひぜんさう）あるものをいとはず。
これらは物類（もの）の相感（あひかんずる）のもつとも至（し）
妙（めう）なるものなり。また硫黄（いわう）よく肥前（ひぜん）
瘡のどくを制（せい）し。これを排除（はらひのぞく）の効（こう）
あること。諸藥その右に出るもの
なし。硫黄（いわう）に。鵜（う）の目／鷹（たか）の目と
よぶものを上品とす。これを細末し
て。日に二匁ほどづゝも服（もちふ）ること
ひさしければ。惣身（そうみ）に硫黄（いわう）の臭気（にほひ）
を発（はつ）し。大便／微利（すこしくだり）。小便も硫黄の

なし。肥前瘡内／攻（こう）して。心腹（むねはら）の病と

腰（こし）あしの病となりたるもの。および
年久しく皮膚（はだへ）の間に浸淫（しみひろがり）【「滛」は「淫」の誤字】て癢（かゆみ）
をなすものゝるゐは。日々水を灌（あび）て
おこたらざれば。その毒ふたゝび外表（そと）へ
發（はつ）して膿（うみ）を醸（かも）して治するなり。

である。ゆえに蝋燭を多く製造する家では、肥前瘡のある者を嫌がらない。これらは物質の相互作用の最も神妙なものである。また硫黄は肥前瘡の毒を制して、これを排除する効果があることは、諸薬でその右に出るものはない。硫黄に「鵜の目・鷹の目」と呼ぶものを上品とする。これを細末して、日に二匁ほどずつ服用すること久しければ、全身に硫黄の臭いを発し、大便は軽い下痢、小便も硫黄の匂いがする。おおよそ百日ばかり用いて怠らなければ、毒は完全に除かれる。
近世、火薬に用いるために、この物を製して、精製したものを硫黄華という。薬屋では多くは付け木に用いるものでこれを製するのは良くない。選んで用いるべきである。内服には、この硫黄華を用いるのが最もよい。
肥前瘡が内攻して、水腫を発することがある。甚だしいものは衝心するものである。小便の通じが悪く、水腫を発したものは、後の水腫の条に言うところの治法に従ってよい。衝心するものは、前の条の脚気の衝心と異なることはない。
肥前瘡が内攻して、心腹の病となり、あるいは眼病となり、また変じて腰足の病となったもの、および年久しく皮膚の間に浸淫して痒みを成すものの類は、日々水を浴びて怠らなければ、その毒が再び外表へ発して膿を醸して治癒する。
この一段に至っては、世人が急に聞いて驚くところの治療であって、平凡な医者どもがよく知るところではない。故にここでは論じない。

Therefore, households that manufacture many candles do not dislike those with Hizen sores. These are the most mysterious examples of mutual interaction between substances. Also, sulfur's ability to control the poison of Hizen sores and eliminate it is unmatched by any other medicine. Among sulfurs, what is called "cormorant eyes/hawk eyes" is considered the highest grade. If this is ground into fine powder and taken at about two monme per day for a long time, the entire body will emit the odor of sulfur, the stool will be slightly loose, and the urine will also smell of sulfur. If used for about one hundred days without neglect, the poison will be completely eliminated.
In recent times, for use in gunpowder, this substance is processed and refined into what is called "sulfur flowers" (flores sulfuris). At pharmacies, it is not good to process this mostly from what is used for kindling. One should select carefully for use. For internal consumption, using these sulfur flowers is best.
Hizen sores may attack internally and cause edema. In severe cases, it attacks the heart. When urination is poor and edema has developed, one should follow the treatment methods described in the later section on edema. Those with heart attack are no different from the heart attack of beriberi described in the previous section.
When Hizen sores attack internally and become diseases of the chest and abdomen, or become eye diseases, or transform into diseases of the lower back and legs, and also cases where it has spread through the skin for many years causing itching - if one bathes in water daily without neglect, the poison will again emerge to the exterior, form pus, and heal.
Regarding this section, these are treatments that ordinary people would be startled to hear about suddenly, and are not well known by mediocre doctors. Therefore, they are not discussed here.
