用れば解（げ）す。また明礬（みやうはん）二匁ばかり
を細末して冷（ひや）水にて服（もちふ）れば。これも
毒（どく）を解（げ）するものなり▲人にゆびを咬（かま）
れたるも。同類とて慢視（ゆだん）しがたき
ことあるもの也。もし血出て痛（いたみ）たへ
がたくば。はやく小便をしかけなか
ら洗てよし。または小便を器（うつは）にとり
て。その中へゆびさきを浸（つけ）おき。血のと
まりたる後に。冷水にてよく洗ひ。

を點（てん）じ。創口（きすぐち）に滴（たら）しこむか。又は灸を

の咽（のんど）に噎（かゝり）て下がたきに。ごまの油を
二三勺／服（のめ）ば。すみやかに下るなり。又は
きつき醋（す）を鼻（はな）へ吹こむか。服（のま）するも
よし。蘿菔（だいこん）の自然汁（しぼりしる）もまたよし
せ【白抜き文字】疝気には。菩提子（じゆずだま）の根（ね）を煎（せん）じ
て用る。これを疝気（せんき）の一／服（ふく）薬と云（いふ）
は。一ぷくにて効（こう）ありといふて。賣薬（ばいやく）
にするなり。また馬蓼（いぬたで）の莖葉（くきは）を
乾（ほし）て刻（きざみ）煎（みせん）してもちふるも効あり。
または唐（から）の苦楝子（せんれんし）。小／茴香（ういきやう）。唐木（からのもく）
香（かう）を等分（とうぶん）にして。それに川穀根（じゆずだまのね）を
倍（いちばい）加（くはへ）て。疝気（せんき）の妙藥なりといふて
鬻（ひさく）ものあり。これらは尋常（なみ〳〵）の毉士（いしや）の
藥よりまさりたる効のあるもの也。
川穀根（じゆずだまのね）。馬蓼（いぬたで）などは。多くあるもの
なれども。時に臨（のぞみ）ては得（え）がたきことも
あれば。この宿疾（ぢびやう）あるものゝ旅装（たびばり）【たびなりヵ】には。
用意したるもよし。または前の建（けん）

はかにはれたるには。小／茴香（ういきやう）を細末

現代語訳
服用すれば解毒される。また明礬二匁ばかりを細末して冷水で服用すれば、これも毒を解するものである。
▲人に指を咬まれたのも、同類だといって油断しがたいことがあるものである。もし血が出て痛みに耐えがたければ、早く小便をかけながら洗うとよい。または小便を器に取って、その中へ指先を浸しておき、血が止まった後に、冷水でよく洗い、付け木か紙縒りに油をつけたものに火をつけ、創口に滴らし込むか、または灸を六七壮するのがよい。
▲餅団子の類が咽喉に詰まって下がりにくい時に、胡麻の油を二三勺飲めば、すみやかに下る。または強い酢を鼻へ吹き込むか、服用するのもよい。大根の搾り汁もまたよい。
▲疝気には、数珠玉の根を煎じて用いる。これを疝気の一服薬というのは、一服で効果があるといって、売薬にするのである。また犬蓼の茎葉を乾燥させて刻み、煎じて用いるのも効果がある。または苦楝子、小茴香、唐木香を等分にして、それに川穀根を倍量加えて、疝気の妙薬だといって売るものがある。これらは普通の医者の薬より優れた効果があるものである。
川穀根、犬蓼などは、多くあるものであるが、いざという時には得難いこともあるので、この持病があるものの旅装には、用意するのもよい。または前の建中散にも、疝気を治する効果があるので、それでもよい。疝気で、陰嚢が急に腫れたものには、小茴香を細末して多く服用すれば、効果があるものである。
▲焼酎を飲んで酔いが覚めにくい時は、強い酢を多く飲むべきである。もし毒にあたって、顔色が青くなり、痙攣を起こしそうになるものは、すみやかに咽喉を探って

▲For hernia pain, boil the roots of Job's tears and use it. This is called "one-dose medicine for hernia" because it is said to be effective with just one dose, and is sold as patent medicine. Also, drying and chopping the stems and leaves of smartweed and decocting them is effective. Or there are those who sell equal parts of chinaberry seed, fennel, and Chinese aromatic wood, with double the amount of Job's tears root added, claiming it to be a wonder drug for hernia. These have superior effects compared to ordinary doctors' medicines.
Job's tears root and smartweed are abundant, but they can be difficult to obtain when needed, so those with this chronic condition should prepare them for travel. Alternatively, the previously mentioned Kenchū-san also has the effect of treating hernia, so that would work too. For hernia where the scrotum suddenly swells, taking large amounts of finely powdered fennel is effective.
