金鶴以下は、すなわちその謝封の貢物である。旧例では胡椒があったが、今は欠けている。白銅錫をもってこれに代える。その常年の貢物は、白錫（一千斤）、紅銅（三千斤）、硫黄（一万二千八百斤）に止まる。琉璜は藩庫に納め、貢使は銅錫を賫して京に至る。前明では福州において、特に市舶提挙一員を設け、専ら琉球の貢事を理し、内官をもってこれを領させた。本朝ではその事を省いて海防に併せ、同知させる。貢使になお之を称して提挙と云わしめる。

From the golden cranes onward, these are the tribute goods for expressing gratitude for the investiture. According to old precedent, there was pepper, but now it is lacking. White copper-tin is substituted for it. The regular annual tribute goods consist only of white tin (one thousand catties), red copper (three thousand catties), and sulfur (twelve thousand eight hundred catties). The sulfur is stored in the domain treasury, while tribute envoys carry the copper and tin to the capital. In the former Ming Dynasty, a Maritime Trade Supervisor was specially appointed at Fuzhou to exclusively handle Ryukyu's tribute affairs, with a court eunuch in charge. The current dynasty has eliminated this position and consolidated it with coastal defense, having it supervised by an Assistant Prefect. The tribute envoys are still allowed to address this official as "Supervisor."
