現代語訳

者である。今史書を按ずるに、一に遣使の年を以て定めとする。洪武以来の使事で、冊封を以て行わない者は、姓名を備に考えることができない。故に併せて列せずという。冊使は例として行人を以て充てる。明の正統中、始めて給事中を用いてこれを為す。正副これに仍る。後に遂に変えず。翰林と中書舎人を用いるのは、前使より始まる。両使が皆史臣なのは、唯だこの役のみである。

英語訳

[those envoys]. Now examining the historical records, we use the year of dispatching envoys as the standard. For missions since Hongwu that were not carried out through investiture ceremonies, the names cannot be thoroughly investigated. Therefore, we do not list them together. Investiture envoys were customarily filled by Bureau of Receptions officials. During the Zhengtong period of Ming, they began using Secretariat Drafter-Advisors for this purpose. Both principal and vice envoys continued this practice. Later this was never changed. The use of Hanlin Academy members and Secretariat Drafter-Scribes began with the previous mission. That both envoys are court historians is unique to this mission alone.
