一 左衛門尉病気大切ニ付今朝大膳大夫ゟ御届仕

上使之御沙汰ニも候ハヽ大膳大夫病気ニ候間
上使請名代之儀昨夕以使者頼申越候
一 自分差支之節之扣は本多下総守え頼候由
一 四時過弐寸出宅継上下縮帷子着用大膳大夫之
上屋舗え罷越候
但左衛門尉居屋敷は手狭ニ付上屋敷ニ向
上使請
一 取次案内居間書院え罷通り用人呼出今日之儀
談合
上使請之座敷出迎送り等之都合も委敷

六月十日
一、左衛門尉の病気が重篤につき、今朝大膳大夫から御届けいたしました。
これについてお尋ねの
上使の御沙汰もあるでしょうが、大膳大夫も病気でございますので、
上使をお受けする名代の件を昨夕使者を以て頼み申し越しました。
一、自分に差し支えがある節の控えは本多下総守へ頼んである由です。
一、四時過ぎに二寸出宅継上下縮帷子を着用し、大膳大夫の
上屋敷へ参りました。
ただし左衛門尉の居屋敷は手狭につき、上屋敷にて
上使をお受けします。
一、取次の案内で居間書院へ通り、用人を呼び出して今日の件を
談合しました。
上使をお受けする座敷、出迎え送り等の都合も詳しく
申し談じ置きました。

1. Regarding Saemon-no-jō's critical illness, Daizen-no-daibu submitted a report this morning.
Concerning this matter, there will likely be an imperial envoy dispatched to make inquiries,
but since Daizen-no-daibu is also ill,
we sent a messenger yesterday evening to request someone to serve as his proxy in receiving the imperial envoy.
1. It is said that when I myself have conflicts, the backup arrangement has been entrusted to Honda Shimōsa-no-kami.
1. After four o'clock, wearing formal attire with abbreviated sleeves and a hemp summer garment, I went to Daizen-no-daibu's
upper residence.
Note: Since Saemon-no-jō's residential estate is too small, the imperial envoy will be received
at the upper residence.
1. Guided by an attendant, I went to the living quarters' reception room, called for the steward, and
discussed today's matters.
We also discussed in detail the arrangements for the room where the imperial envoy would be received, the greeting and seeing-off procedures, etc.
