ただし敷蓙を長く敷いてあり、正面で履物を脱いで
申し上げました。迎え送りも同様です。
一、下総（守）、大蔵（少輔）は玄関の敷き出し門から向かって左の方に着座し、
迎え送りも同様でした。
一、座敷へ
上使をご案内し、敷居際に控えておりました。
能登守は刀掛けを後ろにして着座し、会釈をし、自分は扇子を
着座の脇に取り置き、敷居内で
能登守と六尺ほども間を置いて、角掛けで参り出て平伏しました。
「左衛門尉の病気が重篤につき、お見舞いのため
上使がお越しくださった」
右の通り能登守が申されましたので、「承りました」と申して平伏し、
扇子を取りながら退座し、次の間で控えました。図の通りです。
ただし下総（守）、大蔵（少輔）は次の間に控えており、自分がお受けに
出た際に、まず送り場所へ参る予定で打ち合わせておきました。

However, long mats were laid out, and at the front I removed my footwear
and paid my respects. The greeting and farewell were conducted in the same manner.
1. Shimōsa(-no-kami) and Ōkura(-shōyū) were seated on the left side facing from the entrance hall's outer gate,
and their greeting and farewell were conducted in the same manner.
1. To the reception room:
I guided the imperial envoy and waited by the threshold.
Noto-no-kami sat with the sword rack behind him, bowed respectfully, and I placed my fan
beside where I was seated. Inside the threshold,
maintaining a distance of about six feet from Noto-no-kami, I came forward in formal posture and prostrated myself.
"The imperial envoy has graciously come to inquire about
Saemon-no-jō's serious illness"
As Noto-no-kami spoke these words, I replied "I understand" and prostrated myself,
took my fan while withdrawing from my seat, and waited in the next room as shown in the diagram.
However, Shimōsa(-no-kami) and Ōkura(-shōyū) were waiting in the next room, and when I came out to receive the envoy,
we had arranged that they would first go to the farewell location.
