を出して食べさせてくれたので、久しぶりに箸を使って芋を食べた。さてここで
言うには「ここから三里ほど行って那覇という所があり、そこに薩摩の役人が来て
いるので、そこへ皆々一緒に行かなければならない。諸道具も持参
すべきである」と言うので「伝馬船はどうすべきか」と問うと「それは持参に及ばない」と言った。そこで
諸道具をこの地の人夫に持たせて、昼八つ時頃に出立して那覇
へ行く途中、雨上がりで道路が非常に悪く、一同疲れているので道が進まず困っている
うちに、夜九つ時頃「元へ戻れ」と那覇から飛脚が来る。一同に草臥れているので「もはや歩行できない。ここで休足しよう」と
横になった所へ「飯と汁を持って来た」と言って起こすので、起きて見ると提灯二十張ほど、琉球の役人の従者二、三十人ほどが来て「支度が済み次第元へ戻れ」と言うので「大いに疲れたので明朝にしてください」と言うと、また駕籠三挺を持って来て、三人を乗せ一里ほど戻ってオメカ村という所へ着き、まだ夜の

うちに「御用がある」と言って三人を呼び、一町ほど行くと大きな百姓家に薩摩の
役人お侍三人が刀を持参して来ている。色々御詮議があって持参の荷
物を改められ、確かに土佐国の者に相違ないことが分かったので、暇が出て旅宿
に泊まった。翌日「御用がある」と言って呼び出され、荷物の品々をそれぞれ帳面
に記されて後、宿へ帰る。この宿は百姓の家を空けて三人を置き、薩摩の
御足軽二人、琉球の役人二人が宿を構えて番をする様子である。食事は
三度ずつ、賄いは琉球役人の者がする。三人の宿には組頭格の者一人、子
供一人、都合三人が定詰めにいる。この所に百八十七日いて、時に国王
から命令があると言って駕籠が来るので、三人乗って那覇へ行くと「薩摩の国へ渡
してやる」との趣旨で、薩摩の国への伝馬船並びに荷物諸道具を
残らず積み入れることになった。琉球国でもらった品々には焼酎一斗、帯

When they said "We are greatly tired, so please let us wait until morning," palanquins were brought again, and the three men were placed in them. They went back about one ri to a place called Omeka village, and while it was still night

they called the three men saying "There is official business," and when they went about one cho, at a large farmhouse there were three
samurai officials from Satsuma who had brought their swords. There was various interrogation and their baggage was
inspected, and when it was confirmed that they were indeed people from Tosa domain, they were dismissed and stayed at the inn.
The next day they were called out saying "There is official business," and the various items in their baggage were each recorded in a ledger,
after which they returned to the inn. At this inn a farmer's house was vacated for the three men, while two
ashigaru from Satsuma and two Ryukyu officials set up quarters to keep watch. For meals,
three times daily, the provisions were provided by the Ryukyu officials. At the three men's lodging there was one person of kumigashira rank and one
child, three people in total stationed there permanently. They stayed at this place for 187 days, when an order came from the king,
they said, and palanquins came, so the three men rode them to Naha, where they were told they would be "sent across to Satsuma domain."
A boat to Satsuma domain along with their baggage and belongings were
