Within three days they entered the capital, surrounded the royal castle, and greatly destroyed it. When the Chūzan King and the palace princes begged for surrender, Kabayama and others used fast ships to send urgent reports to Iehisa. Iehisa dispatched messengers to Edo and Sunpu to report these developments. In the fifth month, the Chūzan King became a captive, so the Shimazu forces captured the Chūzan King along with the young princess,
consorts, and concubines, and took control of the national forces. Iehisa placed Chūzan King Shō Nei in a guest residence, treated him with kind care and protection, and sent reports to Sunpu and Edo. In the seventh month, when the Shimazu reports reached Sunpu, Tōshō-gū (Tokugawa Ieyasu) was greatly pleased and sent down a letter to Iehisa, rewarding his achievements regarding Ryukyu
