づけなくも証文（シヤウモン）書て人の命（イノチ）を助（タスケ）しは。又 艶（ヤサ）し
き事ならずや。かく人の恥（ハヂ）とする事を。大 道端（ダウバタ）
に簡板（カンバン）を掛（カケ）。衆人の目にさらす事。無躾（ブシツケ）千万
此（コノ）上なし。見せるものは銭もふけ。見るが鈍漢（ベラホウ）な
りと思ふに。先生（センセイ）雷同（ライドウ）し玉ふ事。見 限（カギ）り果（ハテ）た
る事也。盗泉（タウセン）の水。勝母（シヤウホ）の地#1皆其名をさへ悪（ニク）
むなり。非礼聞ことなかれ。非礼見ることなかれ
とは。聖人（セイジン）の教（ヲシヘ）なりと。青筋（アヲスヂ）はつてのいひぶん。
《割書：予（ワレ）》答（コタヘ）て曰（イハク）。子（シ）が辞（コトバ） 甚（ハナハダ）是（ゼ）なり。去（サリ）ながらいまだ道（ミチ）の
大（オホイ）なる事をしらず。孔子（コウシ）は童謡（ドウヤウ）をも捨（ステ）ず。我（ワレ）亦
屁（ヘ）ひりを取（トル）事 論（ロン）あり。夫天地の間に有もの。
皆 自（ヲノヅカラ）貴賤（キセン）上下の品（シナ）あり。其中（ソノナカ）に至（イタ）り極（キハマ）￣リて。
下品（ゲヒン）とするもの。大小 便（ベン）に止（トヾマ）る。賎（イヤシ）き譬諭（タトヘ）を
漢（カラ）にては糞土（フンド）といひ。 日本にては屎（クソ）のごとし
現代語訳
づけなくも証文を書いて人の命を助けたのは、また優雅なことではないか。このように人が恥とすることを、大通りの道端に看板を掛けて、多くの人の目にさらすことは、無礼千万この上ない。見せる者は銭を儲け、見る者が愚か者だと思うのに、先生が雷同されることは、見限り果てたことである。盗泉の水、勝母の地、皆その名さえも憎むものである。非礼は聞くことなかれ、非礼は見ることなかれ、とは聖人の教えである」と青筋を立てての言い分。
私が答えて言うには、「あなたの言葉は甚だもっともである。しかしながら、いまだ道の大なることを知らない。孔子は童謡をも捨てなかった。私もまた屁をひることを取り上げることに論がある。そもそも天地の間にあるものは、皆おのずから貴賤上下の品がある。その中で極めて下品とするものは、大小便に留まる。卑しい譬喩を中国では糞土といい、日本では糞のごとし
