るが故なり。しかるに此 放屁漢（ヘヒリヲトコ）。今迄用ぬ臀（シリ）を
以て。古人も撒（ヒラ）ぬ曲屁（キヨクベ）をひり出し。一天下に
名を顕（アラハ）す。陳平（チンヘイ）が曰我をして天下に宰（サイ）たら
しめば。又此 肉（ニク）のごとけんと。我も亦 謂（ヲモヘラ）く。若（モシ）賢人（カシコキヒト）
ありて。此屈のごとく工夫をこうし。天下の人を
救（スクヒ）玉はゞ。其 功（イサヲシ）大（オホヒ）ならん。心を用て修行（シユギヤウ）すれば。
屁さへも猶かくのごとし。呼（アヽ）済世（サイセイ）に志（コヽロザス）人。或は
諸芸（シヨゲイ）を学（マナ）ぶ人。一心に務（ツトム）れば。天下に鳴（ナラ）ん事。
屁よりも亦甚し。我（ワレ）は彼（カノ）屁の音を貸（カ）￣リて。
自暴自棄（ジボウジキ）未熟（ミジユク）不出精（フシュツセイ）の人々の。睡（ネムリ）#1を寤（サマ）さ
ん為（タメ）なりと。いふも又 理屈（リクツ）臭（クサ）し子（シ）が論（ロン）
屁のごとしといはゞいへ。我も亦屁ともおも
はず。

現代語訳
るが故である。しかるにこの放屁漢は、今まで使わなかった尻を以て、古人も放らなかった曲屁をひり出し、天下に名を現した。陳平が「私をして天下を宰らせれば、また此の肉のようであろう」と言ったように、私もまた思うには、もし賢人があって、この屁のように工夫をこらし、天下の人を救い給うならば、その功績は大きいであろう。心を用いて修行すれば、屁でさえもなおこのようである。ああ、済世に志す人、或いは
諸芸を学ぶ人が、一心に務めれば、天下に名を鳴らすことは、屁よりもまた甚だしいであろう。私は彼の屁の音を借りて、自暴自棄で未熟、不出精の人々の眠りを覚まさんためである、というのもまた理屈臭い。子の論は屁のごときだといえばいえ。私もまた屁とも思わず。

Therefore it is so. However, this fart-master, using his buttocks which had never been used before, let out curved farts that even the ancients never released, and made his name known throughout the realm. As Chen Ping said, "If I were made to govern the world, it would again be like this meat," I too think that if there were a sage who applied ingenuity like this fart and saved the people of the world, his achievements would be great. If one applies the heart and practices, even farts can be like this. Ah, those who aspire to save the world, or
those who learn the various arts - if they devote themselves wholeheartedly, their fame throughout the realm would be even greater than farts. I borrow the sound of his fart to awaken from sleep those people who are self-destructive, immature, and lacking in earnest effort - but to say this is also pedantic and stinks. If you say my argument is like a fart, then say so. I too do not consider it a fart.
