を用て放（ヒル）といひ又は仕掛（シカケ）の有ならんと衆議（シウギ）さ
らに一決（イツケツ）せず予（ヨ）衆（シウ）人に告（ツゲ）て曰諸子いふことな
かれ放屁薬ある事は我（ワレ）嘗（カツ）てこれを知る大坂
千 種（クサ）屋清右衛門といへる者をかしき薬を売が
好（スキ）にて喧嘩（ケンクワ）下（クダ）し屁（ヘ）ひり薬等の簡（カン）板を
出す其薬方も聞得たれどそれは只屁の出る
のみにてケ様【箇様】の曲屁（キヨクベ）を放ことを放ことを聞ず又仕掛な
らんとの疑（ウタカ）ひ尤（モツトモ）に似たれども。竹田の舞台（フタイ）に
事替り。四方正面のやりばなし。しかも不埒（フラチ）の取

薬を用いて放るというものもあり、また仕掛けがあるのだろうと衆議したが、さらに決着がつかない。私は衆人に告げて言った。「諸君、そのようなことを言ってはならない。放屁薬があることは私がかつて知っている。大坂の千種屋清右衛門という者がおかしな薬を売るのが好きで、喧嘩下し、屁ひり薬等の看板を出している。その薬方も聞き得たが、それはただ屁が出るのみで、このような曲屁を放つことは聞かない。また仕掛けだろうとの疑いももっともに思えるが、竹田の舞台とは事情が違う。四方正面の遣り放し。しかも不埒の取り締まり。いずれにも仕掛けがあるとも見えない。数万の人の目にさらし、仕掛けが見えない程であれば、たとえ仕掛けがあったとしても真に放ると同前である。衆人が真に放ると言うならば、その糟を食らいその泥を濁らせて、放ると思って見るのがよい。さてつくづくと案ずれば、かく
