一燈之儀家老年寄用人大目付共且医者共は
　格別惣而夜四時切に可消之自然無拠ら
　用事又者病人等有之は断相立候上燈を
　置可申事
一御城外江侍分之者自用ニ而罷出る節支配ゝゝ江
　相断其上札役之者方迄申達し札印形を以
　請取罷出晩者七時過迄ニ罷帰へし勿論
　遊所有之場諸見物之所又ハ風呂屋江堅

一家中振廻音物等ハ常々相定置通尤以

現代語訳

一、灯火の件について、家老・年寄・用人・大目付ならびに医者は格別として、一般的には夜四時（午後10時）に消すべし。やむを得ない用事または病人等がある場合は、許可を得た上で灯火を置くことができること

一、御城外へ侍分の者が私用で出かける際は、各支配へ届け出て、その上で札役の者まで申し出て、札印形を受け取って出かけること。夜は七時（午後4時）過ぎまでに帰るべし。もちろん遊廓のある場所、諸見物の所または風呂屋へは堅く参ってはならないこと

　　付け加えて、町屋にて茶・たばこ以外のもてなしを受けてはならない。もし由緒や特別な事情があれば、あらかじめ目付の者へ届け出ておくこと

一、諸役人をはじめ一般的に町人方より理由なく贈り物を一切受け取ってはならないこと

一、家中での贈答品等は常々定め置いた通りにすること。もちろん停止されているものについては、出会いや用捨の理由があっても度々の（以下続く）

1. Regarding lights, while family elders (karō), senior councilors (toshiyori), administrative officials (yōnin), chief inspectors (ōmetsuke), and doctors are exceptions, generally lights must be extinguished at the fourth hour of the night (10 PM). In case of unavoidable business or when there are sick people, lights may be kept after obtaining proper permission.

When samurai-class retainers go outside the castle grounds for private business, they must report to their respective supervisors, then notify the tag officials (fudayaku), receive an identification tag, and go out. In the evening, they must return by past the seventh hour (4 PM). Of course, they are strictly forbidden from visiting pleasure quarters, sightseeing spots, or public bathhouses.

　　Additionally, at townspeople's establishments, one must not accept hospitality other than tea and tobacco. If there are special relationships or circumstances, this must be reported to the inspector (metsuke) in advance.
