よりて曲直瀬を改（あらため）て別に家名をたまはりと也
現代語訳
制さなくても自然と止まるのは色欲である。それでも油断はならない。昔話に、六十七歳の老婆と十六歳の丁稚との密通狂いの訴訟で、周防殿も手を焼かれたということである。七十一歳の爺と十四歳の小娘との心中をした浄瑠璃を三味線で見たことがある。皆まで嘘でもないようだ。
「至って賎しい中にも殊に常ならざる功あり」談義
韓愈が言った「牛の小便、馬糞茸、破れ太鼓の皮まで」も蓄えて用途を待って残さないのが医の良さであると。牛の小便、馬の糞茸、破れ太鼓の皮も、あらかじめ心がけて何の用に立つものかと記憶すべきである。医者と女房は姓がなくても玉座や金の褥に上るものである。女は貞節と美色を要とする。医は清潔で術に精しいことを要とする。術に精しくあろうとするなら、例えば乱心病人の小便が通じず、秘蔵娘の陰部が痛む時には、牛の糞も用に立つことを知るべきである。昔、元和年中に雲上の御歴々が御産の御難産で滞らせられた時に、曲直瀬某が伏龍肝を進上して、たちまち御安産になられたので、この褒賞によって曲直瀬を改めて別に家名を賜ったということである。
