苦（く）も覚えすして行ともなく歩行（あゆむ）ともな
くと有所に随（したか）ひ行菩薩御手をのべ給ひ
かたへなる卯の花の雪にまがふを手折（てをら）せ
玉ひそれ世の人の口ずさみに我（わが）大悲（だひ）
の力（ちから）にては枯（か）れたる木に花／咲（さく）とのみ一／筋（すじ）
に覚えたるは皆／凡俗（ぼんぞく）の迷（まよひ）なり生ずべき

思いながらも、皆それぞれに居眠りをして、その後の様子は白川夜船というように、いびきの音に薪水（病人の看病をしている人）は目を覚まし、読みかけていた経典にかかり、一心に「称名観世音菩薩、即時観其音声、皆得解脱」と念じつつ、信心を怠ることはなかった。そうすれば、水晶が太陽の火を呼び、清水が月の影を映すような気持ちで心に迎え入れ、心に招いて思い続けて止まないので、鬼神が告げる習わしで、異香が四方に薫じ、音楽の声が聞こえ渡ると、薪水は不思議な思いをなして振り返って
