の温泉（ゆ）のそこひなき淵に身を沈むるとも
と思ひ入たる意気知（いきぢ）のをゝしさ男気の
いきはり有是に増る情（なさけ）やはあるはしきや
し郎女（をんな）のなからひは久方のひさしいもので
舊衣（ふるころも）の事ふりにたれば朝夕の飯（をもの）を調る
が如く是を包丁の人料理の家とはいかでか
いはん山鳥の尾の長らしき河漏麺（そばきり）の淡（あじ）
薄（なき）をめで隼（はや）人の薩摩なる金栗（あはもり）酒の酷（ひん）
烈（としたる）をもてはやすこそは風流（みやびと）のしわざなる

べき学（まなひ）のに窓に気を屈（つめ）て古文（しかくなじ）をよみ烏几（つくえ）の
上に筆を曲（かゝめ）て篆隷（めゝず）を書を文人書家と
いふもみな是なりがたきを楽として醴（あまざけ）の如
をすてゝ水の如きにしたがふならずや今や
時太平に治る　御代の春しごと遊魚（くらげ）なす
のらりくらりの遊の道はながいも有ばみじか
いも百（もゝ）たらぬ八百屋の縁の下より多く宝（ほう）
引の糸の千条（ちすじ）にわかれ紋付の数の百箇（もゝ）に
替が如く坪皿（つぼざら）のそこはかなく二乗（あげづゝ）をくひ

現代語訳

【右丁】
の温泉の底知れぬ淵に身を沈めようとも、と思い入った意気地の雄々しさ、男気の粋張りがある。これに増る情けがあるだろうか。いや、女性との関係は久方の長いもので、古着のことが古びてしまえば、朝夕の食事を調理するようなもので、これを包丁人や料理人の家とはどうして言えようか。山鳥の尾の長々しい蕎麦切りの味の薄いのを愛でて、素早い人が薩摩の泡盛酒の辛辣なのをもてはやすのこそが風流人の仕業である。

学ぶべき学問の窓辺で気を詰めて古典を読み、机の上に筆を曲げて篆書や隷書を書く、文人や書家というのも皆これと同じで、成し難いことを楽しみとして、甘酒のようなものを捨てて水のようなものに従うのではないか。今や時は太平に治まった御代の春のように、水母のようにのらりくらりの遊びの道は、長いものもあれば短いものもある。百に足りない八百屋の縁の下より多くの宝引きの糸が千筋に分かれ、紋付きの数が百に変わるように、坪皿の底はかなく揚げ物を食い
