現代語訳

【右丁】
理はみな真なりと弁えるべし。その期に臨んでは病苦に責められ、心も身にまかせず、一方ならぬ乱れの時に御落着を待つべきことは何事であろうか。さてもまた非常な極まり、いかほどの危険さと思うか。その御決定を誰が申し返すことが叶うであろうか。今まさしく身の暇ある時を虚しくして、いたずらに暮らすことは何事であろうか。今は隙の時である。御正しての御内証に叶うこともなるべき時節である。イザヤが美しく宣うように、御主を見奉ることが叶う時に尋ね奉れ、近くまします時に叫び奉れ。

•【朱起】イザヤ五十五章に見えたり。その君を見奉ることが叶うと、今は我等の訴訟を聞し召し、裁き給うことが可能で在ます。

恵みを求めぬにおいては、御救命の時至りて見奉るとも、我等の叫びを少しも聞し召し入らるべからずと心得よ。

第三　《割書：天の御慈悲を頼みて科をやめざる人の事》
ここに天の御慈悲を本とし、十字の御受難を頼みとして、悪しき行儀を改めず心安く暮らす人あり。この迷いを晴らさずんばあるべからず。人ありて「天は悪人に対してこそ十字にかかり給え、誠に御慈悲広大の御主にて在ませば、いかでか我らを捨て給うべきや」と。これまた真なりといえども、汝はかの御憐れみを悪を作る逃げ所ともちいる者なり。御主は罪を滅ぼし給う。

All these reasonings should be understood as true. When that time comes, tormented by the pain of illness, with mind unable to control the body, in a time of extraordinary disorder, what sense is there in waiting for divine grace? Moreover, what extreme danger do you think this represents? Who could successfully appeal that divine judgment? What sense is there in now wasting the time when you have leisure for yourself, living in vain? Now is the time of opportunity. This is the season when things conforming to God's true inner testimony can come to pass. As Isaiah beautifully proclaims: "Seek the Lord when He may be found, call upon Him when He is near."

Chapter 3 《Subheading: Concerning Those Who Rely on Heaven's Mercy but Do Not Cease from Sin》
Here there are people who, taking Heaven's mercy as their foundation and relying on the Passion of the Cross, do not reform their evil conduct and live with peace of mind. This delusion must be cleared away. There are those who say, "Did not Heaven hang on the cross precisely for evil people? Since He is truly a Lord of vast mercy, how could He abandon us?" While this is also true, you are one who uses that divine compassion as a refuge for committing evil. The Lord destroys sin.
