尾張国（をはりのくに）知多郡（ちたごほり）大野村（おほのむら）源左衛門（げんざゑもん）といへる町人（ちやうにん）の持船（もちふね）に、多（おほ）くの材木（ざいもく）を積（つ）
み、水主（かご）十五人、即（すなは）ち同村 長三郎（ちやうさぶろう）、兵（へう）三郎、三九郎、治左衛門（ぢざゑもん）、長吉（ちやうきち）、次郎兵衛（じろうべゑ）、大（おほ）
草村（くさむら）八蔵、草木村（くさぎむら）三蔵、神田村（かんだむら）五郎蔵、もり村六右衛門、六蔵、兵蔵、七郎兵衛、

の内（うち）大山（おほやま）を距（さ）ること三 里（り）ほどの沖（おき）に来（きた）りしに、西風（せいふう）強（つよ）く吹（ふ）き出（いだ）し、尾張国（をはりのくに）
は僅（わづ）か三 里（り）計（ばかり）近（ちか）くに見（み）えしかども、着（つ）きがたく、兎角（とかう）する中（うち）、同日の夜（よる）ま
でに、再（ふたヽ）び伊豆国（いづのくに）和田（わだ）の島（しま）より、三 里（り）ほど沖（おき）まで吹（ふ）き戻（もと）されたり。

第三話。 尾張の人がマリアナ諸島に漂流し、現地の人を騙して故郷に帰る。
尾張国知多郡大野村の源左衛門という町人の持船に、多くの材木を積み、水夫十五人、すなわち同村の長三郎、兵三郎、三九郎、治左衛門、長吉、次郎兵衛、大草村の八蔵、草木村の三蔵、神田村の五郎蔵、森村の六右衛門、六蔵、兵蔵、七郎兵衛、与吉、伝右衛門らが乗り組み、享保十三年戊申年[今から百六十四年前]九月九日、大野村を出帆し、同十月中旬江戸に着き、大舟町問屋の井口久左衛門の手配で、積荷を各所に納め、さて帰船しようと、食料米二石ほどと、尾張藩主の植木、及び同藩士千賀志摩・千賀弥八の荷物を積み、同十月末頃江戸を発ち、伊豆国下田辺りまで進み、同十一月四日下田を出て、同五日三河国片浜の大山から三里ほど沖に来たところ、西風が強く吹き始め、尾張国はわずか三里ばかり近くに見えたけれども、着くことができず、あれこれしているうちに、同日の夜までに、再び伊豆国和田島から三里ほど沖まで吹き戻された。

Third Tale. A person from Owari drifts to the Mariana Islands and deceives the natives to return to his hometown.
On a merchant ship belonging to Genzaemon, a townsman from Ono Village in Chita District, Owari Province, they loaded much timber, with fifteen sailors aboard: namely, Chosaburo, Heisaburo, Sankuro, Jizaemon, Chokichi, and Jirobei from the same village; Hachizo from Okusamura; Sanzo from Kusakimura; Gorozo from Kandamura; Rokuemon, Rokuzo, Hyozo, Shichirobie, Yokichi, and Denemon from Morimura. They departed from Ono Village on the ninth day of the ninth month of Kyoho 13, Year of the Earth Monkey [164 years ago], arrived in Edo in mid-tenth month, and through the arrangements of wholesaler Iguchi Kyuzaemon of Ofunacho, delivered their cargo to various places. When they were about to return home, they loaded about two koku of provisions rice, plants for the Lord of Bishu, and luggage belonging to domain retainers Chiga Shima and Chiga Yahachi. They departed Edo around the end of the tenth month, proceeded to the Shimoda area of Izu Province, left Shimoda on the fourth day of the eleventh month, and on the fifth day came to about three ri offshore from Mount Oyama in Katahama, Sanshu Province. There, strong west winds began to blow, and although Owari Province appeared only about three ri away, they could not reach it. While struggling with this situation, by the night of the same day, they were blown back to about three ri offshore from Wada Island in Izu Province.
